"Sopoong" (소풍) means "Picnic" in Korean. Picnic is part of the Korean culture as Koreans often enjoy picnicking with friends and family, sharing food and enjoying nature. With this purpose, we would like to offer our customers to have reminiscence about our restaurant with great picnic.

The Beginning
As Korean culture surged in popularity across Malaysia, a married couple from South Korea- Yang Hye Kwang and Tak Hee Jung, recognized the growing demand for authentic Korean cuisine. Motivated by this cultural wave, they made the decision in 2009 to open their own restaurant.

In 2019, we opened a new branch in i-City Mall, Shah Alam to better serve the growing community and enhance customer convenience in this vibrant location.
We opened our first Sopoong branch at Berjaya Times Square in 2011, marking the start of our journey in a popular shopping spot. Although it has since closed, it played an important role in shaping who we are today and our commitment to customers.
We opened Sopoong at Quill City Mall in 2014, bringing our unique experience to the heart of the city. Though this branch has since closed, it was an important chapter in our growth and helped us connect with many valued customers along the way.
We proudly opened Sopoong in IOI City Mall in 2015, and it’s been thriving ever since. This bustling location has become a favorite spot for our customers, thanks to its vibrant atmosphere and our continued commitment to quality and service.
We brought the Sopoong vibe to MyTown Mall in 2017, and it’s been buzzing with energy ever since! Nestled in a lively, family-friendly spot, this branch is all about good times, great service, and unforgettable experiences—making every visit a little more special.

In 2019, we expanded by opening a new branch in CITTA Mall, offering greater convenience and accessibility to our customers in the area.
In 2021, we proudly launched a new branch in Setia City Mall, bringing our signature offerings to one of Shah Alam’s most vibrant lifestyle destinations. This exciting expansion allows us to connect with more customers in a dynamic, family-friendly environment while continuing to deliver the quality and service we’re known for.
In 2021, we opened a new branch in IOI Damansara to cater to the growing demand and provide enhanced service to our customers in the surrounding area.
In 2026, a new outlet will be opening soon at Paradigm Mall, Johor Bahru. Ongoing preparations and outlet setup are in progress, with final adjustments and team readiness underway. The grand opening date will be revealed soon.

In 2026, a new outlet has officially opened at Aman Central, Alor Setar, Kedah. Preparations and setup were carried out earlier in the year, followed by final touches and staff readiness. The outlet is now open and ready to welcome customers.
